BizTalk 2013 R2 - BAM fails at Deploying Alerts RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to deploy BAM observation model and getting the following error message:

    C:\...\BAM>bm deploy-all -definitionFile:.\Inbound834EDI.xml

Microsoft (R) Business Activity Monitoring Utility Version 3.11.158.0
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

Using 'BAMPrimaryImport' BAM Primary Import database on server '[LocalPC]'...

    Deploying Activity... Done.
    Deploying View... Done.
Deploying Alert... ERROR: The BAM deployment failed.
    The alerts were not deployed.
Cannot open BAMAlerts service on computer '.'.
    Access is denied

The BAMAlert service is running under my account.

I can also access the BAMAnalysis database under Analysis Services and do see BAM Administrator Role has BizTalk Server Administrators and I am part of the group.  I also see my name under BAM Alerts Role.

    Thanks and Regards

  • Hi,

Try executing the below command :

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013\Tracking\bm.exe" add-account -AccountName:GROUP\~biztalkservice -View:"ExceptionsView"

  • Hello,

BAM alerts may fail during configuration when configuring in a distributed environment using binary collation if you log on to the computer with the domain in the username in the form of domain\username. To avoid this problem, log on to the computer with the domain name in uppercase letters or type the domain name in uppercase.

also you can see below link to check if your issue is listed,

  • Actually I am not having issues with Views.

The following status shows the Activities and Views were created fine.  It failed at Alerts.

    Deploying Activity... Done.
    Deploying View... Done.
Deploying Alert... ERROR: The BAM deployment failed.

    The alerts were not deployed.
