Visual Studio Express 2012 can't detect ANY .NET Framework? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Visual Studio 2012 Express installed on windows 8 64 bit. When I try and make a new project in C#, I don't get the option to target a .NET Framework. I want to target Framework V4

To the left of 'sort by' when setting up a new project, there should be the option to select a framework.

I have tried re installing Visual Studio, removing and re installing the .NET Framework and even running .NET verifying tool, however nothing works.

I'm not sure what to do :/

Answers

  • Which edition of VS 2012 Express (Win 8, web or desktop)?

    What kind of C# project?

When I create a new C# project in VS 2012 Express for desktop, I also do not see "the option to target a .NET Framework".

Once the project is created, I can select PROJECT->(projectname) Properties and find the dropdown list of available .NET Frameworks on the Application tab.
