Image restore extremely slow after I restored it after old HDD failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok my old HDD failed and my image backup from windows 7 pro image backup was restored fine and working good. Then the other day during a restart it ran what seemed to be a registry visible update (not sure what it was but never seen that at startup) at the black Windows 7 loading screen (under "Starting Windows" and then it did an update in the windows 7 screen (like every other update form windows update) and now it drags.  Did memory check, HDD disk check, moved my boot order so I could boot disk 0 HDD first and not my cd-rom.  I've tried just about everything besides a reinstall which is coming next if no one can help.  When I go into Task mgr it only says around 5-20% CPU usage and about 1.54 GB Ram running.

    Thanks, Kurt
