license assessment tool for Windows Embedded Standard 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to obtain the license assessment tool.  According to what I read, it is available at https://ece.partners.extranet.microsoft.com/ece.  We have held a Microsoft CLA,  and I've justed signed up as a Microsoft OEM Partner.  This web site requires a username and password.  How do I obtain this tool?

  • You should get the account from Microsoft via the distributor

  • The tool is also replaced by the SKU packages within SP1 DSs.

  • But those merely disable stuff that is outside the selected license eg WS7E.

What I'd really like is it to tell me "if you add this feature, you need WS7X" for some value of X.

I don't really want to waste all that extra money on WS7P when WS7E would cover me completely...

  • Close, but I'd much rather have ICE tell me (IBW does complain) rather than have to search through a pretty web page trying to compare oranges to ostriches.
