  • Question

  • Hi there,

What is the lowest edition of VS2013 that will do for BT2013 ?

Is it necessary to go for ultimate or is one of the test editions enough ?

  • If you're checking  the lowest Visual Studio edition for saving cost, then Professional edition should do.

    FYI:

    • For BizTalk 2013, it Visual Studio 2012. And for Visual Studio 2013 is for BizTalk 2013 R2 (not 2013)
    • And as pointed out, "Test Professional" is not for testing.
    • Have a look here for the comparison for features among the Visual studio editions.

  • Test Edition is not meant for development at all so, no.

Any other Edition of Visual Studio will support BizTalk DEV.

  • Hi BTS,

You getting it wrong with the Visual Studio version compatibility with BizTalk 2013.

Visual Studio 2012 is for BizTalk 2013

Visual Studio 2013 is for BizTalk 2013 R2

Regarding the edition, Visual Studio Ultimate Edition is recommended, but Premium and Professional are also supported. So you can choose between these three based on your requirement.
