How to implement globalization in asp.net web form using SQL server Database (version 2012).

I'm planning to support 20 different languages in my website, I'm using ASP.net webform and SQL serer database, all the language translations data is stored in database.
Based on the query string (localhost:8080/page1.aspx?lang=en), I need to fetch the data from database and change the culture of the website.

Your requirements are a little unclear. You might want to try some research on the subject. Since you posted in a Microsoft web site, I am guessing you are using a MS product for development and hosting....

    Hi,

It's a bit unclear if you want to localize labels (as you could do with resource files?) even if they are stored in a db rather than in a resource file or if you meant that you really rather want to localize data. I've done this once by :
    - having a table with main non localized data (amounts, dates etc...)
    - having a child table with a row for each language
    - also if a language translation were missing we had a workflow to request a translation in particular language(s)

Make sure to explain what is your exact use case. Also it is always best to explain what is the first problem you have in trying to do what you describe.

    Hi Patrice

    Thanks for your Reply.

I'm using ASP.Net Webform application (20 webforms and lot of texts/labels in the UI) and want to support the application in 20 languages (globalization).

All the Labels/Texts used in the webforms are translated and stored in a database (SQL server 2014). So wanted know hoe to implement globalization where the translated strings are stored in database.

Using resource files, I have implemented globalization in one of my application. Now the challenge is using database in globalization.

Could you please advice the right direction.

    Thanks

    Umesh

You should check out this link....

This is a web widget that you can drop on your web page and change to any language support by .net

This link has more info on other services.
