Navigation URL without # Sign?

Question

Is there any way to get rid of the # sign in the URL for a SL5 navigation app?

For example, instead of:

http://www.mydomain.com/#Login (Which is actually www.mydomain.com/default.aspx#Login)

It would be:

http://www.mydomain.com/Login

Or is this just how it works?
