Metro application deployment on Windows 8 CTP. RRS feed

  • Question

  • The application which successfully was deployed on Windows Developer Preview now on the CTP (even on the machine where it's been developed) gives an error:

In addition I can't find any information on the Get-AppxLog command or how to find the event by it's ActivityID.

    Thanks,

    Dmitrij

  • Developer Preview apps need to be updated to run on the Consumer Preview. See the //Build to Windows 8 Consumer Preview migration guide for information on how to do so, and if you have specific questions then please post in the appropriate language development forum.

    Get-AppxLog is a PowerShell cmdlet:

    PS C:\> help Get-AppxLog

    NAME
        Get-AppxLog

    SYNTAX
        Get-AppxLog [-All] [<CommonParameters>]

        Get-AppxLog [-ActivityId <string>] [<CommonParameters>]

    ALIASES
        None

  • Thanks Rob.

In my case the error was because of incorrect logos format in the Package.appxmanifest file.
