Possible to include an extension with a project template? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a few extensions that I really like to have handy, and want to include them in my project template. Of course, they're installed on Visual Studio 2010, not "in a project", so I'm not sure if this is possible. I'm highly ADD, so I'm putting together all of the things I usually like to work with and packaging them so that setting up my work environment will be a snap going forward. I can just add a readme of things to install, but if it is possible to package an extension installer with a project template, that would be very cool.

  • Hi Ironwil,

    Thanks for your post.

From your description, your issue is more related to "Visual Studio Extensibility".

I'll move it there so that you can get better support.

  • Hi Ironwil,

You can package your extensions into a VSIX project template.

More info you can refer to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd393742.aspx

I think it will meet your purpose.

    Best regards,
