ActiveX controls causing CLR exceptions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am developing an application in which I need to use third party Active X controls. Everything works fine until I enable the "Break when a CLR exception is thrown" from the Debug-> Exception menu but the system throws COM exception once I enable the option to break the code execution whenever a CLR exception is thrown and the exception message doesnt contain any useful information to debug the issue.

Does anybody have seen such an issue before, any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • I usually try to follow the advise of my doctor: if it hurts, don't do it.  If you really want to pursue this, download the Debugging Tools for Windows and get familiar with Windbg.exe
