  • If you are using SSIS then use Analysis Services Processing Task.

Open your SSIS project -> From Toolbox Drag Drop "Analysis Services Processing task" -> right click on "Analysis Services Processing task" -> Select Edit option, it opens Analysis Services Processing task editor  -> Select Processing Settings -> Select your Analysis Services connection under "Analysis Services connection manager -> Click on Add button, it opens "Add Analysis Services Object" window -> Select Partition which you want to Unprocess -> Under process options of object list Select "Unprocess" and then click on OK button. and run the task.

  • This can also be done in AMO using Partition.Process(ProcessType.ProcessClear)

  • Select the cube in SSAS. Right Click to select Process. Here against the cube, Select the process option as "UnProcess"

  • Hello:

i have 2 technical questions about the unprocess of a partition...i would really appreciate if you could answer them as possible as they can..

1.- when you unprocess, the amount of disk space occupied by the partition it is released..??

2.- if it is not released automatically, is there a function to force it, like a shrink function..??

    Thank you
