  • Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {F5078F1B-C551-11D3-89B9-0000F81FE221} failed due to the following error: 80040154.

  • Not sure how you avoided the gazillion hits you'll get when you Google this.  The COM component isn't registered properly.  Contact the component vendor for help with their install program.

  • Hi Friends,

    Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {F5078F1B-C551-11D3-89B9-0000F81FE221} failed due to the following error: 80040154. I am getting following error when i am defining following statement
    Dim docsend As New MSXML2.DOMDocument26
    Should i Make any manual registry or any paricular reference change. But the same is working in my development machine  when i install the same application in client i get this issue.

  • I do not know the answer to your direct question but are you using MSXML library to parse xml? .NET has now built in DOM functionality.

  • First, which version of Windows are you running and is it a 32 or 64-bit version? If it's a 64-bit version then you will need to compile your app for 32-bit (x86).
