Last Refreshed Date measure updates in powerpivot, but not in excel - help? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    I did the following:

    1) Created a PP table off the direct query "select sysdate updated from dual".

    2) Created a measure on the table: Last Updated:=max([UPDATED])

    3) went over to Excel, and in a cell entered the formula: ="(Last refresh: "& TEXT(CUBEVALUE("PowerPivot Data",CUBEMEMBER("PowerPivot Data","[Measures].[Last Updated]")),"yyyy-mmm-dd h:mm AM/PM") & ")"

The first time i did this, it seemed fine.

Then to test it, i refreshed the lastupdated table. The new time showed up in the powerpivot window, but the excel sheet formula cell did not reflect the change.

So how do I get the excel sheet to actually reflect the change when the table is refreshed?

  • Go To Data than Refresh all

  • Thanks for the reply.

Not sure I'm following you tho - please explain?

But more importantly, I have this powerpivot on my sharepoint site, with an automatic refresh scheduled there. My hope is for this last-refreshed-date to carry thru to the excel sheet daily after the sharepoint schedule runs.

Am I going about this in the wrong way?

    thanks again,
