Vis Studio 2017 Community - Recent Projects always empty?

    Question

  • Hi all

experiencing a problem with VS 2017 Community whereby the 'Recent' section on the Start Page is never populated. Even after opening and closing solutions and projects, closing and re-opening VS, the list is always empty. VS knows about recent files though because the 'File...Recent Projects and Solutions' section does contain my, it's just the Start Page doesn't seem to want to show any frustratingly.

has anybody encountered this issue and what's the fix?

    Thanks

  • Hi Eamonn,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

Please click file->recent files or recent projects and solutions to check if the recent projects could be found.

Meanwhile, can you please try opening a different solution and closing it, then re-opening the original solution and closing it? That seems to have worked for some folks who tried it out on a different feedback item. If you don’t have the latest version, please update your visual studio 2017 to latest version, please refer to here: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/releasenotes/vs2017-relnotes

    Best regards,
