  • Sorry for the long delay in getting a response.  This was originally in the WDK forum, which was not being monitored for question about the HCK. Someone spotted the orphan and sent it over to us.

In some cases it is possible to distribute the testing over a number of machines.  The new kit is designed to actually do this for you, but unfortunately most of the tests were not attributed "distributable" so if you have a machine pool with multiple machines in it it won't help in most cases.

Until we can work through this with all of the content owners sometime in the future, here's an option you can use if your device actually has a number of devnodes exposed.  Each devnode in the compost device could be separated out as a separate project and run on a separate machine.  Then the results of all of those devnodes can be brought back together using the merge function found on the create package tab.

You want to be careful NOT to leave an selected but not tested devnode in any of the projects because the tests will show in the final merge as "Not Run" even though you did run them in a separate project.  The kit isn't smart about that level of merging.
