Displaying multiple data in a text box(in a formated way)!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Community

I want to display my field in a text box in a certain way, but could not find any options in the expression to do so...

I have multiple fields in a dataset, and I want to display some of these fields in a single cell.

I have done this for now:

    =Fields!Department.Value + "/ " + Fields!Base.Value & "/ " & Fields!Rating.Value & "/ " & Fields!EquipmentName.Value

It displays like this in a preview:

    Department/ Base/ Rating/ EquipmentName

But I want to display these fields in different lines like this:

    Department
         Base
    Value
        EqupmentName

Is there anyway to do that using available expressions?? BTW I am grouping the detail section and I want to put them together. Please help!! :)

  • One way to do it is to use Chr() function. For new line you can use Chr(10). To do tabbing, you could do Chr(9) but it is not rendered nice when exported to .pdf. Probably it is better to use spaces. An example:

    ="Department" & Chr(10) & Chr(9) & "Base" & Chr(10) & "Rating" & Chr(10) & "     " & "EquipmentName"

    I hope it helps...
