Is it possible to change the casing of a custom domain? RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is somewhat related to the question on renaming tenant domain, but here I'd like to know if it is possible to change the casing of a custom domain.

If someone put a wrong casing of a custom domain and it is in use for emails, is it still possible to change the casing of a custom domain? Example "CONtoso.com" to "contoso.com". I know it is is pure aesthetics, and have little to no practical consequences.

  • Once you add a custom domain to your directory, you need to add the DNS registrar for the same. So, its not possible to change the casing of a custom domain as it needs to be verified by the DNS record.
You can delete the custom domain and then recreate it. Reference : Managing custom domain names in your Azure Active Directory
