  • Hi,

The TFS Database stored in the SQL Server you used to install TFS, so if you installed TFS as a basic scenario it should be exist on the same server of the TFS

    Tfs_DefaultCollection

    Tfs_Warehouse

    Tfs_Configuration

    Thanks

  • Just to add to what M.Radwan said,

=> Go to your TFS Administration console and you can see the connection string as well as the sql server instance and the data tier server.

  • And yes, if you know the web access url, you could turn on fiddler (http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler/version.asp). This will show you the name of the server that is hosting TFS when it communicates with the server calling the TFS services. Take the server name log on to the server and then see the TFS admin console. This will give you answer to where your TFS database is set up.

  • Hi  Joe,

    Thanks for your post.

The TfsVersionControl database is the DB for TFS 2008, in TFS 2010, each one Team Project Collection has one DB named Tfs_CollectionName DB.

What’s the detailed error occurred when you create the second Collection? Please share the detailed creating log here.
