I can not access VM after failover RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I'm having trouble setting up a test environment to simulate Azure Site Recovery. I have protected VMs being replicated to Azure, replication is ok. I have a VPN with azure using RRAS, when I do failover (planned or testing) I can not access my VM through the VPN.

I have already created another VM inside Azure connected to the same VNET and I can access, that is, VPN works.

Something happens to the protected VM during failover.

    I'm not using NSG

The VM is running Windows Firewall disabled.

    Could someone help?

  • Hello Leandro,

    By "access" you mean RDP?

Have you tried checking the connection using Ping? what's the status?

if you sure about the VPN is Works properly and firewall settings is okey for RDP, You can check that RDP was enabled on that VM before replicated to Azure.

  • Hello

Yes, rdp via VPN. After failover, a network interface does not have access to it, but already done manually and even then I can not access it.

    Ping also fails.

Remembering that creating a VM from scratch already in the azure connected to the same network I do not have this problem, something happens during failover.

  • Hi, I did enable RDP before failover.
I did a test, before doing the failover I installed inside the Logmein VM (remote access software), after failover I added a public IP to the network card and I can not access and Logmein is offline too.

It's as if the VM after the failover was totally out of the loop.

  • Hi,

When i started playing with ASR i had the same issue.

The problem was i didn't have the Windows Azure VM agent installed on my hyper V Virtual machines.

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=394789

The agent binds the VM to the Azure Service Fabric and is required tfor VM communication.

Once i installed the agent the failed over Azure VM had full network access and the red cross on the Boot diagnostics went away.

    hope this helps.

    Hello,

I installed this software, hoped to replicate it and did a test failover and it did not work.

VM has taken IP 172.16.0.4 but I can not ping this address.

I have another VM created on Azure on this same network with IP 172.16.0.5 and I can ping it

  • Can you access the VM fail the serial console?

  • Do you Have A TPM on your Puter
it may be causing the failover cause your Server Does Not Have TPM Yet

    Hello
I tried to access via serial and it does not work. I also tried remote commands and nothing happens.
