    Question

  • Hi

Can someone tell me if FILESTREAM is available yet in vNext on Linux.

If so how do I enable it for the service?

  • Hello

During the last PASS Summit they said that it won't be supported.

  • Hi maccazuke,

Based on my test, FILESTREAM isn’t supported on Linux for the SQL Server vNext version. FILESTREAM integrates the SQL Server Database Engine with an NTFS or ReFS file systems by storing varbinary(max) binary large object (BLOB) data as files on the file system. These two file systems will cause some compatibility issues on Linux.

    Best Regards,
    Teige
