"The application failed to start." RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. I'm trying to check if a specific pop-up (IE9 download toolbar )is displayed.

    Sometiems is working, sometimes not.

    WinToolBar toolBar = new WinToolBar(bWindow);
                toolBar.SearchProperties[WinToolBar.PropertyNames.Name] = "Notification bar";
                if (toolBar.WaitForControlExist(8000))

    I got an error, when I'm using WaitForControlExist(): "The application failed to start."

    The application failed to start. Additional Details:
    TechnologyName:  'MSAA'
    Name:  'Action Dialog -- Webpage Dialog'
    ClassName:  'Internet Explorer_TridentDlgFrame'
    ControlType:  'Window'

  • Hi deepakguna,

    Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.

    Just to make this issue clearly, could you see the App UI when you play back the coded UI test? You run the test locally in VS IDE, am I right? Based on the error message, I doubt that the UI doesn’t be opened, so if possible, you could open it manually, and then run the test again.

    Best Regards,
