Mobile web app using Bing maps RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a website which works on Bing maps v6.3, which works on bing maps license I got. Now, I'm planning to develop a mobile website (mobile web app) for my website and want to use Bing maps for directions and showing the location.

    So, here is my question:

Can I just redirect the user to m.bing.com/maps for his directions as I found touch events do not work on mobile browser while interacting with the map. Is it legal to do so? If I can, can someone help me in redirection, I have a latitude and longtitude of the location all I need is place it over the map.

And, is there a way, I can open my map in default map application of the mobile.( Like google maps for iPhone, Android platform and Bing maps for WP7 platform).

I'm pretty new at the developing mobile web apps, so please forgive me if this question is pretty basic.

    Appreciate your help

  • You can redirect the customer to Bing is you want. Take a look at this documentation: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-gb/bing/ff808440.aspx

You can't open the native map api from the browser. What I would suggest is migrating to V7 of Bing Maps. It is officially supported on iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry 6. It has also been found to work on Kindle Fire.
