V8 localization with both zh-cn and en-us street names RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just started with v8 and need to show both mandarin signs and English road names. How to set this up? Old v7 syntax is not working.

  • Dual labelling is not supported in V8. This was very rarely used in V7 and would have really limited V8 with some of it's new features. Note that zh-CN wasn't officially supported in V7.

  • No, the language of the map can't be changed once the map is loaded. The map script needs to be reloaded with a different culture code. Note that V8 doesn't yet support overriding the auto detected language at this time. Also, if you are in China, you won't be able to view the map in any other language as Chinese government has strict regulations around how maps are displayed when in China.
