How to deploy application? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

    I have a WinCE6/ARM Omap3530 device.  I am unable to deploy my application to this device from Visual Studio 2005.  I have been searching for solution and seen something about using Corecon and Autolaunch helper utilities.  I do not know where to get these utilities for my ARM device.

    Do you know where I can get them or some other method to deploy application to WinCE device?

    Thanks in advance for your help,

    Luan

  • Is Active Sync working on your device ?

    If yes, then using VS2005 you can deploy it on to your device.

    Using Platform builder you can copy the image to the device and run it manually.

    Using platform builder you can copy the OS to ram and using run program you can run your application if it is part of OS image

  • Hi All,

    Yes, Active Sync is working.  However, Visual Studio failed the deployment and it popped up a message, saying something about deployment failure. Since the error window was popped every time, I checked a box to not have it displayed again. Now I do not have the picture of the window to show here. In addition, when I click on "Deploy MyProjectName" under the Debug menu, I got the following output:

    1>c:\MyProjectname\[$ObjectFileName]

    1>Error: The operation could not be completed. The system cannot find the file specified.

    ========== Build: 0 succeeded, 0 failed, 1 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========

    ========== Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========

    I am not sure what

    [$ObjectFileName] is.

    I have manually copied MyApp.exe to my device each time there are changes in my application. With this method, I can put break points in the source code and debug my app sucessfully. However, I got tired of it for the long run and decided to get help.

    Would you please show me what I need to do to deploy my app successfully? Are there possibly something wrong or missing in my project settings?

    Thanks,

    Luan
