Storage Account - Resource Lock on blob RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Team,

I have a specific requirement where if I apply resource lock on a Storage Account it should Not allow me to delete a blob, However it should allow me to modify it.

Could someone let me know if this is possible or if there is any other way to achieve this ?

    Thanks,

    Prashant

  • I don't believe there is support for such level of granularity (resource locks apply to the storage account). You might want to consider enabling soft delete instead.

  • Thanks you, I am aware of this. However I wanted to check specifically if we can apply the lock to Blob level. It does apply to container though.

  • @Prashanth, Currently, you can specify locks at storage account level only.

I would recommend you to refer the following article to know more information on how resource locks will work.

  • Hi Prashant,

    what "does apply to container"?

Setting the delete lock on the storage account level does not prevent the ability to delete containers (and blobs)
