Working with Advanced option in SSRS

I want row header to be repeated in each page. For that i need to work with advanced option in ssrs on the right.
but when i select advanced option nothing happens and also row group and column group options are not workable or u can say blurred. For grouping i need select the rows and work. please let me know if any settings i need to make please let me know

I can see in the Properties window that you have select the Body of the report, and not the Tablix. You need to select the Tablix in order to see the groupings. To do this you can click on the top left box of the tablix, or select it in the Properties dropdown.

You are probably having the same problem as many with the tablix.

This looks buggy. This area should be visible at all time.
I have never seen it behave like that.
I guess I would try to do a repair-install, or probably a complete re-install. You could try to get the last updates for visual studio before, if you are on an old version. Or even try SQL Server Data Tools (SQL 2012)
I am sorry the answer is not fun.. but that's in fact what I would do, too.
