Examples of software RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have just started a project in Denmark. We are going to use Kinect in education for children in the age 7-10 years. Lot of people are interested in this project, and I think there will be a market for this. We need software to use in education. We are going to make some programs, but it would be nice if where was a place there we could get some examples of software for education.

  • Could you provide some examples of your work? Please have a look at my project http://natulearn.com where we use Kinect in education.

  • I have a Kinect project here you can try: http://kinectmultipoint.codeplex.com. It makes a virtual mouse device for each person recognized by the Kinect (the virtual mouse device acts like a real mouse device). You can also search codeplex using the keyword Kinect to find education samples (their is a music Kinect app and some others on their).

Note: Future plans if everything goes as planned are to get it working with notebook software for teachers before I leave my workplace (IT for public K-12 system) that way multiple students can use the notebook software at a time without purchasing new and expensive smartboard's.

  • P.S. email at jefferycarlson@gmail.com if you want the latest source code or just wait at the link above for me to update it. I have some code I am currently in the process of updating for the project. But, if you can get the Kinect side tested and then just pass data to the proper named files it should work.
