  • Question

  • Hi,

We are running the exchange 2010 on two separate severs ( Hub and Mailbox ) roles. What is the best practice to upgrade to exchange 2013?

    Thanks !

  • Hi

You can use Exchange Server Deployment Assistant , it is a very good tool for upgrading to Exchange Server 2013.

Also here is a good link for, Planning and Deployment Exchange Server 2013.

  • Hi,

If you are going to deploy CAS and MBX role on different servers then Microsoft recommends to first install MBX server role and then CAS role. You can use Exchange Server Deployment Assistant as well for step by step instructions on how to upgrade. Exchange 2010 SP3 on all Exchange 2010 servers in the organization, including Edge Transport servers. Minimum Exchange 2013 CU1 on all Exchange 2013 servers in the organization. Now MS released Exchange 2013 SP1 and i prefer you to use Exchange 2013 SP1 for upgrade.

    Thanks.
