how to create contact in particular folder with VB.Net RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an app that creates contacts in Outlook from QuickBooks.  I has been working for years.

    The problem is that it only creates them in 1 folder.

    There are several difference contract folders and we need to create the contacts in specific folders.

    I have not seen a way of doing this.

    We use

    OlContact = OutLookApp.CreateItem(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlItemType.olContactItem)
    then OLContact.Save()

    SaveAs(pFolder) did not work.

    Using  OlContact.Account = pFolder did nothing

    pFolder is a string with the folder name i.e. 'Contacts - email@email.com'

    What must I do to get the contact to be created in a particular folder (in pFolder)?

    Thanks

    I have not seen a way of doing this.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for visiting Outlook forum.

    As here we mainly focus on issues regarding Outlook client, I'm not familiar with VB. I'll help move this case to Outlook for Developers forum to get a better response.

    Thank you for your understanding and support.

    Regards,

    Perry

  • Instead of using OutLookApp.CreateItem( to create the new contact, use pFolder.Items.Add.
