Visual Studio 2013 just doesn't see image

    Question

  • Hello,

I have been trying to create the basic UI for my app and when I created an image for a GridViewItem and changed it to be that image, it didn't work. Later I tried duplicating the file, which didn't work either. I found out that Visual Studio 2013 just doesn't see my image. How can I make it see the image like normally?

  • How did you add that image to your project? Did you simply copy it over to the directory where the files are located? If so: the solution explorer has a couple of buttons above it. If you move your mouse over those you will find one labeled: "show all files". Once you click that it will show all files in the file system instead of only those that are part of your project.

You can then look for the file, right click and pick include in project. Then in the properties pane for that file select the build action to be content (that's the same build action used for the images that are part of the project from the beginning).

    Hope that fixes your problem.
