How to detect press and hold of a button (or another control) RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I am building an APP for windows 7 phone (7.0).

I am using silverlight and C#

I want to display a list of numbers on there. When a user presses and holds a particular number for some amount of time (1 sec about), i want a menu to be invoked.

(Very similar to what happens if you press and hold an app icon on the phone and it generates a menu with items: "pin to start, uninstall, rate and review")

Is there any sample / documentation that describes how to do this?

I was thinking of doing it using a button (for each number), and registring for an event GotTouchCapture/LostTouchCapture + timer, however on the Windows phone 7 silverlight the button class does not have GotTouchCapture / LostTouchCapture events.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.
