Question about user-define property of outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • I add some user-defined property on a meeting, and then I send it. And my question is where does the user-defined property save? is it send with the appointmentitem? I mean, if I am the receiver, can I read the user-defined property?

    Thanks.

  • Do you mean you add your property to an AppointmentItem object? When a meeting request is sent, Outlook creates and sends a MeetingRequest object, the original AppointmentItem is left unchanged in the Calendar folder.

You should not expect the custom properties to make it through to a recipient, especially if you are sending through SMTP and the meeting request/update is converted to the iCal format.
