PC Soft's WinDev, WebDev & Mobile vs VisualStudio RRS feed

    Hello,

I need help in deciding what tools I should choose for building applications for the desktop, web and mobile.

I'm looking at Visual Studio and PC Soft's suite of tools. I'm currently playing around with both and after seeing the kind of time investment required, I had better stop and make sure to choose the right toolset to avoid changing later and starting over.

If you have experience with both, I'd love to hear from you... I already know PCSoft users will say PCSoft and VS users will say VS, but what is really needed is advice from someone that has experiences with both as only they can properly compare the two. Lets start with a few questions...

    1. Any of you currently use or have used PC Soft's WinDev, WebDev and/ or WinDev Mobile?

    2. Do you use both?

    3. Did you try PC Soft's suite but stayed with VS? and why?

    4. If you started over, what would you choose as your primary toolset? and why?

Any and all suggestions is greatly appreciated...

    Thank you

    Hi ElishaSpicer,

both are object-oriented computer programming environments developed by Microsoft and PC Soft.

both are designed for the rapid creation of data-heavy applications.

They involve compiled code databases and integrated run-time frameworks

both allow applications to be created quickly and run independent of the computer’s operating system.

so you can choose the one ,

which environment can easily fulfil the desired requirement of customer.

which is also capable enough , powerful and suitable for the selected type of project.

    which provide the better support

which have better future and reliability, flexibility.

which you can buy in reasonable price and can develop many types of projects with in one developing software.

in that , in Visual Studio you can just download the templates and you are ready to go. in the same software you can develop window application, web application , mobile application.

you can choose the one with which you are familiar. otherwise it have all the features and functionality but due to lake of information you will not able to use it.

choose the one in which you can easily migrate to latest versions in future without any trouble.

you also need to discuss this with your team and with your client. choose the one with which all are agree.

    Regards

    Deepak

    Hi,

I've got experience with both products: webdev and vs 2013 / 2015 / 2017. If you need the maximum flexibility go with visual studio. If you want to develop real fast, having many features out of the box go with webdev / windev (unless you care about the high pricing for licensing the product, also for each update).

    best regards
