Drag and drop from WPF app to MFC app RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I need to drag and drop some data from a WPF C# app to an MFC C++ app.  What would be the best way of going about this?  I've got the dragging part down, as I can drag and drop from the WPF app onto itself.  I'm not understanding the best way to drop onto the MFC app though.  Any ideas appreciated.

  • Maybe you should ask this question in a WPF forum, as "how to drag from WPF app to any other Windows app, for example the Windows Explorer".

MFC apps are using standard Windows drag and drop, so if you can drop anything (a text or a filename for example) from your WPF to any Windows native app (like Notepad or Explorer), you could use the same process to drag and drop any data to a MFC app.

  • From the following POC, you can use WPF controls in MFC.
