Microsoft MSDN Licensing - Datacenter RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello -

What is the least costly MSDN licensing subscription that will allow a datacenter edition license for Windows Server 2008 R2 and or Windows Server 2012 R2?  This license will primarily be used for development, so I'm trying to find what is the most cost effective licensing model via MSDN.  Thank you.

  • Hello,

You can buy it through Microsoft Volume Licensing.

    Thanks

  • mr15: Visit this link: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/#FileId=45060 and click the 'details' pull down.  You'll see a list of MSDN Subscriptions that provide access to the Windows Server 2008 R2 file.  The cheapest, as Pratha says, are probably the VL subscriptions, and of those probably the OS subscription.  You'll need to do your own investigation however.

Let me know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Did Microsoft call you out of the blue about your computer? No, they didn't.
