Custom Authentication with SSL RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having a big problem to create a solution to login an internet portal in SharePoint.

I will make a custom authentication, users are in a SharePoint list, this will allow the users authentication
enter the page which has your information.

How do I get ssl authentication to access a page after the user login?

Has anyone went through this experience? Where do I start?

  • I believe that using claims authentication to SharePoint I can resolve this problem.

I looked this info on this link:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jjameson/archive/2011/02/25/claims-login-web-part-for-sharepoint-server-2010.aspx

Does anyone know if I can use SharePoint lists to retrieve user information?

I say this because my users will be in SharePoint lists and not on an external databases.

  • you will need to call the list using elevated privilege so that you can check the user trying to log in but i don't see any reason why you can't store your users in a sharepoint list.

  • Hi,

I'm thinking two WebApplications, one will be the WebApplication of internet portal and will have access to anonymous users,
other WebApplication uses the ssl method (https) with clains authentication to authenticate registered users.

The problem is that the WebApplication will search for data in a list located under another WebApplication(internet) , I want to use the lists from SharePoint to store the registered users.

What do you think of this architecture?

I can use this template without major problems?

How do I consume lists between different WebApplications?
