Microsoft Kinect SDK without Visual Studio RRS feed

  • Hi, I wanna know if It's possible to use the Microsoft Kinect SDK without Visual Studio ( Programing in C++). I am currently using Eclipse C++ and i don't want to migrate to Visual Studio just to include the kinect on my application.

    If it´s possible, any tips ?

    PS: I am asking these because I am having trouble with the SDK referece on Eclipse.

  • You should have the required .h and .lib file to compile given that your compiler is capable of using the .lib. I am not sure how the Eclipse compiler works. How do you compile other DirectX or other Win32 based applicaions with Eclipse it shoud be no different.

    You may have to manually load the .dll using LoadLibrary and mapping the functions to something you can use in your app. That would be outside the scope of the support in this forum. Kinect for Windows SDK can also be used with the Express Editions of Visual Studio.
