How can I display comma separated data in a Tablix cell? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In an RDLC report:

For each row in a Tablix, I'd like to display values from all the row's children in a cell in the Tablix, comma separated. How can I do this?

    The scenario:

Each row consists of an Employee entity's details. An Employee can have multiple phone numbers. These are stored in a one-to-many relationship between Employee and EmployeePhone tables in SQL Server 2005.

In each Employee row in a Tablix, I'd like to have one cell within which I display all the Employee's phone numbers, comma separated. Is this even possible?

    Thanks for any help.

Answers

  • You can merge the data in the query by taking all of the fields and combining into one field, before passing the data to the report.
