Does Visual Studio 2013 update 2 RC work with any remote debugger?

    Question

  • Remote debugging worked find until I installed VS 2013 Update 2 RC yesterday.  I have installed the Remote Tools for Visual Studio 2013 Update 1 that is the latest version that I can find.  Is there  Remote Tools for Visual Studio 2013 Update 2.

    I am getting the following:

I cannot install VS 2013 Update 2 on the remote machine which is Surface RT.

Could anyone shed some light on this?

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • You're right that VS version must match the debugger version. I'll ask our people about the availability of the matching debugger.

  • Thanks a lot for looking into this. Matt.   The remote machine that I use frequently is Surface RT.

  • Fantastic!  Thanks a lot!  I have just installed it.  It is working.

My Surface RT is finally back to action to test apps' performance on less powerful machines.
