  • Have you tried the Flash 11 RC?

  • If you are using 64-bit Windows 8, you need the Flash Player 11 RC

  • Flash 11 RC works with the desktop version of IE, but it does NOT seem to work with the "immersive" IE. I installed flash 11 several times without any luck.

  • No add-ons work with Metro IE, it seems.

If I can't use LastPass in it, it's useless for me.  Also, I changed my search provider to Google in the desktop IE, but it remains Bing in Metro IE.

hmm, in this case wait a few days, maybe you get updates for the Addons which support the Metro IE.

  • Hey people, I'm using Windows Developer Preview and I think it's just awesome, I'm impressed with it! But I'm having a problem with Adobe Flash Player 10, I installed it in the IE10 Developer Preview that comes with it to watch videos on YouTube and other stuff, and it worked well with the traditional IE for the traditional desktop, but it keeps telling me to install it when I use the new IE in the Metro interface, so I keep reinstalling it and it just doesn't work, it works in the traditional desktop and not in Metro. Does anybody know how to fix this?

It doesn't work for the Metro Interface. The Immersive IE doesn't support extensions yet.

  • Looking at the recent post from Dean on the Build Windows 8 Blog, I suspect that may be a classic "by design" - I quote: "The current Windows Developer Preview is for developers, not consumers. For example, there’s work ahead to make sure that sites that already run plug-in free for other devices can work that way in IE10. Similarly, some sites may need to update older, out-of-date libraries that don’t work well with IE10. Including the current desktop style browser to deliver the compatibility that people expect from a Windows release is also important."

  • Just FYI LastPass Password Manager works well with the desktop mode of IE10.  In fact IE10 has been improved to allow LastPass to share the line with the File menu which is a nice UI improvement.   Kudos IE team.

The fact that nothing will run in Metro IE though is a big disappointment, I hope this decision is reconsidered -- we'd be fine writing new code to support Metro mode's new UI.

We're talking about Lastpass over here if you're interested: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsdeveloperpreviewgeneral/thread/c5cdbf10-53ae-4881-ad09-dbcd4cec3e88

    Hi Joe,

Great to see you here. Would really appreciate your contributions over here: Lastpass - how will it work in Win8?
