Deploying ASP NET project and got problem with IIS - researched alot on web but cannot fixed! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a ASP Net project developed on my laptop, and now i want to use it on anther desktop. So I heard the first off I have to get the IIS run before i can run any ASP(X) page. So I install the IIS using my Windows XP SP2 CD. After that, I just try type "http://localhost/" (in both IE 7and FF newest). Fisrt it says as to log in, and even tho i tried all username and password (ones I used to log on the desktop). So i researched on the net (do a lot of thing with the "anonymous access" so i can't remember what I do) now it turn to "HTTP 500 Internal Error,"

even though i dont get this error:
    Error Type:
    Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A0046)
    Permission denied: 'GetObject'
    /localstart.asp, line 19

    i use this article

    to do this work:
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services.
    2. In the console tree, click Default Web Site. In the display pane, right-click Localstart.asp, and then click Properties.
    3. On the File Security tab, click Edit under Anonymous access and authentication control.
    4. On the Authentication Methods property page, click to clear Anonymous access

I still get the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

I am not an expert in IIS so I will try to give as much info as i can so that you guys can help me out
the file Localstart.asp is located in "C:\InetPub\wwwroot"

I cannot even get the IIS run, cannot think of the next step is to run the aspx!
Please help! IF you need more information, just tell me how to get that info! I need to get this project run on the desktop as soon as i can!
