Workflow for travel application - condition that approval is given with 48 hours RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to create a travel application Workflow. User fills in application and email goes to validator to ask them to approve.  If the application is approved within 48 hours the applicant is notified by email. If the application is not approved within 48 hours, an email is sent back to applicant advising them to resubmit application choosing another validator.

    Thanks

  • Hi FionaMcCarron,

You can pause your workflow for 48 hours, then detects your workflow status, if the status is not equals the “Approved”, then send email to advising them to resubmit application choosing another validator.

    Thanks,

    Jack

  • You could use 2 workflows. One that handles the Approval and the second that pauses for the 48 hours. The second workflow would Pause which is what Jack has suggested, however the second workflow would also check the approval status. If the approval status is not approved then you can handle the condition in the second workflow. If the status is still pending approval you can terminate the first workflow from the second workflow.

  • Jack - thank you very much. I will try this. I had assumed though that a pause meant nothing could happen during the paused period inc. approval?

  • Hi FionaMccarron,

Yes, your are right. If the workflow is in paused, there is nothing durning the processing.
