Cannot get Licence Key for Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySQL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've installed SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySQL (ver. 5.2). On the License management window I`ve clicked license registration link (url is: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=167939), but I only got this:

" ... We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found.... "

How can I obtain correct license for SSMA for MySQL ???

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello ,

    Did you tried below step

    Licensing SSMA

To use SSMA, you must download a registration key. To help you with the registration process, a License Key Required dialog box opens the first time that you start the SSMA program. Use the following instructions to download a license key and associate the key with SSMA.

    To license SSMA

    1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySQL, and then select Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySQL.

    2. In the License Management dialog box, click the license registration page link.

    3. On the Sign In Web page, enter your Windows Live ID user name and password, and click Sign In.

A Windows Live ID is a Hotmail e-mail address, MSN e-mail address, or Microsoft Passport account. If you do not have one of these accounts, you will have to create a new account. To create a new account, click the Sign up now button.

    4. On the SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySQL License Registration Web page, fill in at least the required fields, which are marked with a red asterisk, and then click Finish.

    5. In the File Download dialog box, click Save.

    6. In the Save As dialog box, locate the folder that is shown in the License Management dialog box, and then click Save.

The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant\MySQL.

    7. In the License Management dialog box, click Refresh License.

http://www.microsoft.com/404.htm (" ... We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found... ")

So I am unable to finish the process ...

    Hello Dunsan,

Thas really annoying i understand that. You can wait for one or two days and can try again or you can raise this case with MS as a feed back.

Post your question here and wait for feedback from MS

  • Try http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=40911, and make sure you DON'T choose to register, as that part is broken at the moment.

  • 5 Steps to fix the issue.

    1) Open "http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=40911" without the comma at the end. Click download. Select SSMA license key from the dialog box.

    2) This will allow you to download a file 'oracle-ssma.license'.

    3) Copy the downloaded file to your SSMA directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant\)

    4) Rename the file to 'ssma-license.key'.

    5) Open SSMA. From the License Management dialog box, click Refresh License.
