Programming a generic USB servo controller RRS feed

  • Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question...

My Windows IoT-powered robotics project involves servo motors, and I have been using the Pololu Maestro USB-enabled servo controller successfully. This servo controller, when plugged into a USP port, lists itself as a "composite device" and acts as a serial device, so I can communicate with it via Windows.Devices.SerialCommunication objects.

But those Pololu controllers are expensive. I bought this much cheaper generic controller which is also USP-enabled. This one, however, lists itself as simply an Input Device, and does not let itself be found as a serial device. So what can be done here? How can this device be controlled programmatically?

I am an experienced programmer but unfortunately have no experience in programming USB devices. Thanks in advance.
