Need help with TopoEdit - Media Foundation Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was trying to build some topology with the TopoEdit. Each time "Add Source...", the following error shows up -

    Media Foundation Error

    Failed to create source node.
    The byte stream type of the given URL is unsupported.

    I tried .mpeg, avi files

    Can someone give me some hint? Thanks a lot!

  • Try one mp3 file and it works. So it should not be media foundation issue.

  • This function inside CTedMediaFileRenderer::CreateSource failed -
    CreateObjectFromURL(m_szFileName, MF_RESOLUTION_MEDIASOURCE,
                                                NULL, &ObjectType, &spSourceUnk)

    The file is in the local folder, something like c:\data\clip\abc.avi

  • Currently Media Foundation does not support MPEG or AVI files, unless you have a custom media source.
