Unable to change Admin password

Question
-
Hi,
I am running SharePoint 2010 (free version). I recently change the domain password as a result I wanted to change it in SharePoint. I go to security, then manages Account and click on Administrator account to edit it. Then I click on Change password now and type my password. The password that I put in is 17 characters long, it has upper case, lower case, number and special character as well. But, when after I click on OK after few seconds I get a message that says:
Error
"The password does not meet the password policy requirements. check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements."
What I am doing wrong and how can I fix this.
Thanks

Hi David,
You got this error cause the password already been change in AD, and SharePoint is attempting to update a password that has already been updated within the “Minimum password age” policy.
The solution to this problem is enter the updated password in the “Use existing password” section of Credential Management.
I would suggest you to take a look at this article:

Hi dtabib,
This message told you that you didn't meet password policy requirement on Active Directory. Which password phrase did you type?

Hi,
As I mentioned; I recently changed the admin password, I was typing the new password which is 17 characters long and meet our AD policy. I changed the password first on AD and it took it without complaining that I didn't meet password policy. Assuming I was good to go then I went to the SharePoint to change it there and I got the error.
