Publishing new datasets (v7.0) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I uploaded a new dataset yesterday via bingmapsportal.com. It is pending for more than 24 hours. The XML file had only 3 entities. How long can this process take? Will it eventually succeed or fail or can it sit forever in the 'pending' state?

Another question related to this: when programmatically posting to http://spatial.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Dataflows/LoadDataSource , I see that the job 'succeeds' ("Completed" status). However, the points are not visible after that. Is it because it takes as long as uploading through the website?

    thanks

  • The time it takes for an upload can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Generally if it takes more than 24 hours contact mpnet@microsoft.com Once a data source is uploaded it may take a few minutes for the data to be populated through the system and until this is done the data won't be available. A good way to find out when this population has completed is to query the data source metadata. This will not exist until the data source is populated through out the system.
