Invalid passwork from Access FE

Question

I have a split Access DB and the BE is password protected. When I try to open a report in the FE I get a "invalid Password" prompt. It only lets me link the table when the BE is not password protected. Any suggestion has to how to password protect the BE and be able to use the FE without signing into the BE.

I am unable to recreate your issue in A2007 or A2013.

What version of Access are you using.

It could be that the incorrect password is stored in the FE system tables. Try deleting the linked Tables to get rid of the stored password. Then use the Link Table Manager to re-link the BE. It should prompt you for the password. Once you delete and re-add the Tables with the password it should work. Let us know if it helps.
