SaveContactTask for Windows Phone 8.1 WinRT application

Question

I am looking for a WinRT API that provides the same functionality as SaveContactTask from the Silverlight apps. SaveContactTask prompts the user to add a new contact to an existing contact store (like their Microsoft account which will be synced across devices).

The docs at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/dn800286.aspx point me to the ContactManager class, but most of those methods are not available on Windows Phone 8.1 apps and are only meant for Windows 8.1 apps. Again, the documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/dn518181.aspx uses the ContactManager class and the functionality is not available on Windows Phone 8.1.
