Weather Apps is not suspended in background RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi, just found out the weather apps is not suspended in the background, eating my CPU cycles since the wallpaper is literally a playing video.

    Any takes on this?

  • Hi Philliphs,

Is the Weather App still the main focus, do you still see it running behind Task Manager (you actually see your city)? If so switch to a different screen and it should Suspend in Task Manager now. If not does the same thing happen after rebooting or trying a different city?

When i am running the Weather App and it's not the current focus it does Suspend but if it's still the focus it does not go into that state.

  • Hello Keith. Only sometimes windows suspend the weather apps. Most of the time it does not suspend even if it is out of focus. I have to constantly terminate it through the task manager.

My guess is even if it is out of focus, but I only open one another apps, it is still kept in the background for quick switch. With the background video still playing, it hogs my CPU (which is only an atom :))
